1. I made Advent-calendar with a lot of different activities.
2. I baked some layers for my birthday cake. I froze them until December.
3. But my birthday began early this year with a lot of flowers from my husband :) So lovely!
4. I baked a new type of bread - Lithuanian challah bread with streusel. Good!
5. More flowers from my darling :)
6. Sourdough waffles as our Saturday breakfast are a delicious tradition.
7. Aroma of Christmas here, in Finland, is hyacinth.
8. I made it again :) Croissant. I bought Italian strong flour (13% protein) and 83% butter and some layers emerged there... It wasn't like a French one, of course, but it wasn't a disaster either... So I'm happy :)
9. A new type of bread. I have been growing a new sourdough starter - Lievito Madre - because I would like to bake a panettone for Christmas. I made this first bread to test the starter. It differs from my old liquid starter - a heel of bread was softer. And bread had a sweeter taste.
10. New dishes for a dinner: potato-pear gratin and roman salad with eggs and horseradish-Turkish yogurt sauce. Good!
11. My panettone quest :) Difficult... I was very tired of making it and can say that it wasn't as good as I expected :( But I'm very glad I tried. And I have a plan to do it again :) Wish me luck :)
11.Our Advent-calendar starts on 30th November because Christmas market begins on this day in Turku...
12. Here we go ... We need to go to the Christmas market :)
13. Christmas market.
14. On the way home... Weather was so good that day!
Best wishes,
Katia
