Croissant

I don't know what's wrong with these croissants or with me :)
But I like them very much. And I want to learn how to make them. I baked them a few times, and something goes wrong every time. Too big bites of dough, too hot temperature for butter, too long time in the fridge, too short time... Sometimes I think that I simply need to buy a croissant from a local bakery and never try making them again. But I want to learn make this flaky, layered texture. I get it but it is always too flaky or too flat... or something else. And I have never had these beautiful layers inside a croissant. My croissants are like buns... 
But they were simply delicious today!
