Hello my dear blogspot!
January was very rich on events :)
First, I spent two weeks with my parents. There were all the Christmas stuff that we hadn't had some years before: Christmas tree and gifts under it, lights, delicious food and the happy family around me...
It was an amazing time!
My mother's orchid. Beautiful!
This is my baggage: 18 kg of yarn :) I'm so happy now! I can knit again and now I am knitting a shirt. I suppose it takes me a few days and the shirt will be done.
When I came home the weather was wonderful, the sun was shining and everything around was covered with snow...
We walked in the forest and slid down from the snow slide.
One holiday we went to a flower shop. I wanted a citrus tree but there were many other houseplants and no citruses. Well, we just looked around and found some interesting plants...
And this one came with us. A little sign of spring :)
While I was with my parents, the sweet potato decided that it was time to grow up :) Its name is Geraldine and it is growing more and more every day...
But the most significant event in January was handcrafted bread of sourdough :)
This is my starter (rye flour and wheat flour). I named it Champagne because it is very bubbly when it is active.
I made two kinds of bread: with wheat and rye flore. They are delicious!
Of course I made a few semla of sourdough with organic cream (A Semla is a Swedish cream bun (a cardamom version of Scottish Cream Buns), which has a marzipan type filling, whipped cream and is dusted with powdered sugar.)
Well, January was interesting, delicious and snowy, full of family traditions, fresh bread and journeys.
Let's see what February will look like...
Have a good mood!
Best wishes,
Katrin
